I paid for a room last year, but the host cancelled so I got a hotel. A year later I found they DID NOT refund my money back on to my credit card, but they kept it as a COUPON and if I didn't use it, it was expiring in a week so I would have lost $148!!!!

I was forced to get a room with Airbnb so I could use my own money that they refused to credit. So I had to use them again after hours of waiting on the phone and tons of emails that only proved what a POOR BUSINESS MODEL AND ETHICS THEY HAVE!!!

As I was never going to use Airbnb, I would have lost this money and I wouldn't have even known.

No other company keeps your money if transactions are cancelled, not even through your fault.

DON"T EVER USE AIRBNB !!!

They also recognize your browser and every time you look for a room, the price for the room is higher and higher!!

They also charge high fees BOTH FOR THE HOST AND FOR THE GUEST!!! they can't charge both!

Reason of review: Pricing issue.

Monetary Loss: $148.

Preferred solution: REGULATION BY THE FTC.
