Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with full refund. I filed a dispute with CapitalOne.
Finally called my credit card company and got a full refund.Reported the illegal property to Airbnb as a follow-up and they shut off my account. lol
It is illegal for short-term rentals (less than 31 days) like Airbnb in LA, hence Shawn advertising the location as Santa Monica. Stayed 1 night out of 21 because I had nowhere to go and no car. The 'host'/scammer wouldn't refund my $4,000, and Airbnb wouldn't help despite the fact I was switched to a different city. Airbnb said they couldn't do anything because of the host's 'strict cancellation policy.' I could have been switched to a TX location from the booked CA location, and Airbnb would have done nothing!
And then there is Shawn with his moldy, gross apartment in Barrington Plaza... What an unethical piece of dog ***

I never got a resolution and what is even more infuriating is that the owner over there in Oahu kept money that should have been returned to me. However, that person chose to ignore me in hopes that I would stay quiet.
To make things worse, we encountered a big roach in the apartment. When we requested at least a $1000 refund, we were only given $300 back, and the thief never even returned our messages. There should be a way to sue these people. Worst ever I have seen.
They should not even be considered an Airbnb location. Please do something and get back to me so I can provide all details.
Located in the corner of McCully Street and Ala Wai Blvd. The city health department needs to shut down this joint.

I tried booking a rental through Airbnb but had to give up. Ridiculously technical process, i.e., 'write a note to the property manager, tell us about yourself, what is your favorite color, download a personal photo, QR code, etc.' I booked through Booking.com and it was fast, simple, and easy. I am submitting this complaint to report both a theft that occurred during my Airbnb stay and Airbnb’s complete failure to respond appropriately.
During my stay at a property listed on Airbnb, my laptop was taken under circumstances that led me to believe it was not an accident or simple loss. After reporting the incident, the situation escalated into what I experienced as intimidation, pressure, and conduct I consider to be extortion by the host. All related communication took place through Airbnb’s messaging system and is documented.
I reported this matter to Airbnb immediately and provided the available evidence. Over the past four weeks, Airbnb has not resolved the issue, has not provided a clear outcome, and has not taken meaningful action to address the host’s conduct. Communication has been inconsistent, case managers have changed, and my attempts to obtain resolution have led to repeated delays rather than answers.
My concern extends beyond the loss of my property. Airbnb has been fully aware of the seriousness of these allegations and has allowed the situation to remain unresolved while the host continues to operate on the platform. From my perspective, this reflects a failure to protect guests, enforce platform standards, and respond appropriately to reports involving alleged theft, coercive behavior, and guest safety concerns.
I am requesting a review of Airbnb’s handling of this case, including whether their response procedures, host oversight, and escalation processes were followed appropriately.

I accidentally booked a property with Caterina House via Airbnb and cancelled within less than one minute. No service was provided, no check-in occurred, and the host suffered no actual loss.
Despite EU consumer protection law (Directive 2011/83/EU) and my polite requests, the host refused a full refund. Airbnb confirmed that the refund decision is solely with the host, but their response has been unhelpful. I am sharing this complaint publicly to alert future customers and to request a fair resolution.

I am very disappointed in Airbnb for shutting my account down because my husband tried to set a vacation for him and me. He got an email back saying he has past drug convictions, which was once in 2017.
He has changed his whole life around, and Airbnb not only shut his reservations down but mine as well. I have never been in trouble or had a bad past with renting any place on vacation! Be judgmental some more!
One very upset family here. I will never recommend Airbnb to anyone, and in fact, I will exploit them for this degrading experience.

Its been over a month now going back and forth about my payout with Airbnb they made me change bank account to resolve the matter 3 times and still havent gotten paid. I need assistance urgently.Airbnb is not as it used to be. Hosts are being ridiculed at this staged and it seems nothing can be done to resolve payment issues.

It was an unpleasant experience to request additional cleaning and to address the damages. The treats, warnings, rudeness, and false accusations are shocking for a company of this caliber.
The top managers, Beth and Timothy, should be seriously retrained or dismissed.
In the meantime, I have frozen my website due to the repairs and the unfortunate unprofessional behavior of your company. Sincerely

Been trying to complete my reservation and I'm not used to this. I'm new at this, and for some reason, they said my account has expired.
I did because I keep changing and looking for places, but I didn't know I'm adding stuff to my reservation without paying. I don't know; I'm not sure what happened.

Cancelled reservation
Booked a reservation 8 months ago, cancelled just prior to travelling. Know other people in the same complex and they stated the host got more money and cancelled me.
Air b and b wanted to give me a 35.00 credit towards another booking. They do not care about their customers.
Never again with air b and b.
