Could not use my preloaded travel card (Which I had organised pre-trip to pay for my accomodation) because of the cards origin. Was looking to book in the uk so listing was in GBP, my card was loaded with GBP, didn't think this would be a problem. But every time I tried to pay the amount was being converted back to AUD and so would be charged in AUD (Slugging me with a 6% conversion fee back to AUD from GBP). After three days of being shunted backwards and forwards between people, being told it was a system glitch or that I would receive a call back 5 times and hearing nothing, being told I needed to download a whole new browser or emptying my cache , or wait 24 hours and start again, not only did I miss out on one of the properties I was trying to book, but they finally decided to tell me it could not be done. I could not use my pre loaded travel card to purchase accomodation overseas, because It would always revert back to AUD. Pretty useless for a travel site, I suppose they must really enjoy charging conversion fees. Thanks a lot airbnb, you've literally ruined my holiday.
NEVER book with anyone with a strict cancellation policy. Total SCAM. I cancelled a reservation 30 minutes after booking and lost HALF of the total fee (~$500). No service by the host was rendered, no harm was done to the host (as if anyone else would reserve the same...Read more
Airbnb - Cancelled without explanation or refund
I made a reservation for two weeks and paid for it. Three days in, it was cancelled without explanation and not refunded. I have emailed and phoned for days. I will make one last attempt tomorrow then I am just going to change my card number so they can't steal anymore money from me. I am going to hometogo from now on.

Airbnb - What a JOKE!
I tried to make a reservation for tonight; they made me jump through a hundred hoops (I'm not tech savvy) and then told me it would be 24 HOURS before anyone got back to me! Called and they asked for a reservation number... THEY DIDN"T GIVE ME ONE YET! Never again! I'm probably out $129!

Airbnb - Cancellation
We had to cancel the rental due to military changes so let the host know right away, the next morning in fact, assuming it was the fair thing to do for the host giving them more than enough time to rent unit again, almost 4 months in fact. Policy is, now we found out, if we would of waited until the first 7 days of the 14 days before arrival we would of got full refund instead of less the 50% by letting them know almost four months before arrival, what's up with that?

Airbnb - Their I.T. is pathetic
I received about a dozen messages from the property owner. Because Airbnb "did not recognise" the I-pad that I was using, I was unable to respond to the messages. The owner was becoming so distraught that I had to research her telephone number and call her. Now that I have returned home, and am using the laptop through which I made all reservations, Airbnb still "does not recognise", and despite repeated attempts to change passwords, I have been unable to review the properties I have used.
