Two weeks ago, I went to a real estate summit in CA. I rented this Airbnb for me and three other ladies.

When we entered the home, it had an awful smell. As we approached the bedrooms the odor was significantly worse especially in the master bedroom and bathroom. It smelt like cat urine was locked in the bedding, baseboards, and flooring. One of the ladies with me was allergic to cats and started experiencing an allergic reaction.

I immediately called Airbnb and told them of the situation and that we could not stay there.

I also contacted the owner of the home, and she sent a cleaner over. The cleaner (who could not speak much English) said she didn't smell anything. The home was clean, but the odor was horrible. All 4 of us who were staying there decided after 30 minutes in the home that we could not stay there.

Airbnb refuses a refund and says that odor doesn't go against their policies for a refund.

I have spent two weeks trying to fight this with no avail. The owner also refuses to refund the money.

Dozens of people have been affected by Airbnb Support Victimization

Hello. We are an established company that has been accepting our guests through airbnb for many years.

At the beginning of October, the reservation of all our guests who were in our houses was canceled at once without any warning and the cancellation money was credited to us as a penalty to our account. Although we have been in correspondence with the support unit for days, we have not been receiving a response and we are not being provided with support in this regard. At the same time, the guests staying at the house also had to leave the house by packing their bags at once. In this case, both we and our guests were victimized.

Trust in our company has been shaken. Some guests have filed a lawsuit against us thinking that the reservation was canceled by us. Due to an unfair application, both the trust in our company has been shaken and about 150 people on about 30 different reservations have been unfairly negatively affected by this situation. Despite all our correspondence for days, the company has not been giving us the necessary explanation, nor has it given a clear answer to our problems about why this situation has happened.

Dozens of people have been affected by this situation, us and our guests. Airbnb has been disappointing.

They are not going to give you specifics. Face it. They have a ton of algorithms in place that caught whatever you were trying to pull.

They gave me my refund then block my account so I can not use my coupon so they can let my coupon expire and then they will give me my reason why my account is blocked or suspended who knows they won't tell me a bunch of *** that's all I know and my account is suspended or I dont rsLly know what it is all I know is I emailed brian chrsky your ceo of the company also I want to know who will compensate me for this Ive been living jhomeless due to I cant book nothing for a place to stay and also I have looked into a few articles regarding my situation I am a domestic violence survivor and I have read several articles about your company help temporarily house domestic violence woman so we dont have to go back home to our abuser in the position that Im in its looking like Im gonna have to go back to my abuser and let him beat the *** out of me. Hes gonna end up being the death of me.

I am really hoping that somebody reads this at recess and understands where Im coming from Ive read several articles that you guys help. How is domestic violence survivors and it didnt say anything that it was only during the pandemic only like the answers I keep getting from your company. It also says good great news. We are going to further this pilot program for further time to help domestic violence survivors is after the pandemic I said I read another article.

It said you guys are going to keep doing this pilot program not that you were setting it down and Ive never read anything or any articles that state you are stopping the program therefore, I would like answers on that. Also, I also want answers on how long its going to be and how long I will have my account whatever it is I dont know if its suspended blocked, frozen security reasons or what then they stay write me and they dont put anything down but they cant help me with this further moment. I need to know why my account is like that and they cannot email me or write me on my inbox because I cannot receive any messages due to what is ever going out of my account. I think its totally *** and I have a coupon for $1295.

It seems to me that they want to take my coupon and let it expire and then I wont be able to use anything anywhere. Therefore I would like some answers and I would like you guys to get back to me by calling me not emailing me not writing anything in my inbox. My telephone number is 206-482-**** .

Very poor customer service

Booked a guest and she arrived and stayed with a dog and was observed to be smoking on the porch. Both are prohibited on this property and clearly listed in the house rules. Tried to get a cleaning fee and am still dealing with them. Air BNB does nothing! they want YOU to submit to the guest. Keep calling them back and all I get is Europeans and Indians who barely speak english.

I had a terrible experience that cost me to lose 2500$ and all they could have answered with was that they have got nothing to do for me. I will never use this platform nor recommend it to any of my friends.

To review their payment policies

You deposit policies are very vague, when do you have to pay for your rental and if you have to cancel how late can it be done and at what cost, the last time I used your company I had to pay only30 days prior to check in date. We are looking to book for a month five months in advance. Thats a long time go tie up thousands of dollars.

We have been hosting on Air bnb for less than a year. We have never recieved payment, for any of the guest that stayed at our place. The coustomer service chats were like robotic and not helpful they were passing me around like a hot potato. And when I tried to get ahold of them through a phone number they were all not working and saying this number is unavaliable. THEY ARE HORRIBLE NEVER USE AIR BNB THEY ARE SCAMMERS!!

I meant to say they slander and libel at will insisting that it is their policy to allow owners to present feedback. However when that feedback is untrue, libelous and slanderous, looking at the evidence I presented they need to remove what he said.

I booked a stay at an Airbnb at Address 9300 Renshaw Dr, Bethesda, MD *****, with an owner called Shahab. His place was bare bones.

Hardly any pots, or pans. No silverware to speak of. No real cups, in short, a poorly stocked kitchen. Washer and dryer in the back of the home in what was a spooky, grey large room with all the ductwork there.

There were no dressers. There were bugs in the basement. He would stomp over my head with his baby at three and four am. He refused to stock anything insisting I call him to get what I needed.

Home smelled of mildew. Home had been refurbished, but just wasn't pleasant. All of our communications were pleasant. He kept extending my stay as I had my husband in the hospital.

I cleaned with lysol when I left, opened windows, made sure I did what he asked, forgot to get a few things from the refrigerator. Without any prior warning he got online and slandered and libeled me insisting I left a bad smell, that I wrote personal things, that I left things in his refrigerator, that I called him at all hours, on and on. He's full of it. There were things I needed, and he said to call at night.

I needed toilet paper, or I needed other items he refused to stock. If he didn't want to be called provide them to begin with! Since he was coming down, several times to provide things for me if there was a smell or anything bad, why didnt he say anything then? It is more than obvious that he is making this up because theres no way that he would not have noticed it when he came down to bring me toilet paper or other things I had asked for that he should have had stopped for me to begin with so that I didnt have to bother him.

He had ample time to ask me to leave, why would he keep extending my stay if he felt that way? In terms of personal things, he emailed to say he was not booking after November because "B&B was not for him". So, if someone does not want to talk about personal things why email that to me? What goads me is that I was told by Airbnb is that it is not against their policy for him to write this slanderous nonsense.

So, in effect they are saying their policy is to allow slander. I was told by many of those looking at the case that it was unfair, uncalled for, no bad words exchanged, and everything seemed to point to his continuing to allow my stay which is the opposite of what any normal person would do if anything he said were true.

I could have written this on the Airbnb but decided to delete my account. There is no way I would suggest anyone deal with Airbnb for any reason whatsoever.
