Airbnb doesn't have customer's interest at heart. It's a company that allow greedy property owners like Maurick in Nashville Tennessee to thrive on helpless customers hard earned money.
I paid $628.92 usd on November 6 to check in on Nov 26 and canceled on Nov 13 due to an unforseen circumstance. Airbnb and Maurick only refunded me $18.25.
Airbnb told that it's only Maurick that can order them to release full refund. Meanwhile, Maurick said I should talk to Airbnb just to buy time for himself. I begged the heartless Maurick to have mercy for a full refund but he declined and said he's upholding his refund policy.
Its so sad that a company like Airbnb encourages and empowers greeds like Maurick.
Please if you love yourself, avoid Maurick property in Nashville Tennessee. I wish I had reserved an hotel accommodation.

It seems that AirBNB does not abide by its own policies. After some back and forth, AirBNB has done nothing to prevent the host from inflating prices after accepting my booking and offered me a $200 coupon, which I did not accept. I will never use AirBNB.
After I went to bed late yesterday, 9-26-23, notification was sent via AirBNB that the reservation was canceled and that a refund was being processed.
I woke up to this message and contacted the host, who indicated that AirBNB actually canceled and they didn't know why. Literally moments later, I received notification from AirBNB that my identify had not been verified, and so I went through the verification process. Thinking this is why they canceled - although, since payment had been received already, it made no sense to me - I then went to book the same property again. The price of the property had significantly increased - from $2,697.20 (including travel insurance) to $5,621.31!
I again reached out to the host, who indicated that AirBNB controlled the pricing.
I researched AirBNB policies and discovered that the identification verification process occurs at check-out, upon request by the host. This did not happen. AirBNB policy also specifies that, if a host chooses to change a rental rate after a booking has been made, he/she may do so only upon making a request of the guest. If the guest does not agree to the fee change, then the original pricing stands.
I then called AirBNB this morning.
They indicated that the host actually requested the cancelation and that they need to investigate the reason for the request. They offered to contact the host and request the original rate be honored as a "special rate." They also offered to find similar properties for me; however, I have searched the site and no other properties meet our requirements. (AirBNB did send me some other options and, as expected, they do not meet the same requirements of our reserved property, including the need for three full bathrooms.)
As the property is still listed as available for my specific dates, except at a much higher rate, it is patently obvious that the host noted our visit would coincide with Thanksgiving and decided to raise the rate. While I understand that rate fluctuations occur, this flies in the face of the AirBNB policy, which AirBNB itself is not honoring, and is unfair once booking and payment had been made.
I told AirBNB I expected to be able to rent the property that was canceled at the original agreed-upon rate.
It seems that wasn't an option. It's a good thing we didn't purchase airline tickets to get there!!!

I ask you to return the amounts for the taxi, accommodation in urgently found places, and a ruined trip. Please take action against scammers.

I would prefer not. Considering they will perform limited duties in supporting guests.
My guest was not comfortable with knowing the unit possibly has a pest problem. It would affect purchasing any food, or even luggage susceptible to the vermin. After logging the issue for refund (full or partial), sending video and photos, Airbnb informed me there was nothing they could do as vermin is not an applicable reason for a refund. The host later replied, its just 1.
This would indicate they know theres a possible issue and are willing to subject guests to this environment.
Nonetheless, I was unable to receive any benefit aside from $8. Worst experience I've ever been subjected to on a vacation.

Hello Airbnb did a cancellation on June 28,2023 because I had an unruly guest who destroyed my home and stole from it in 8 days. My accounts states no refund however Jackie from Airbnb issued a refund to guest stating it was a courtesy from Airbnb and that I was not penalized for it.
On 7/20/23 once again Sanjana stated that Airbnb paid Stephanie cancellation fee and that it didnt affect my account but as I look at my account it states that upcoming payment june 30 -$1083 also july 6 -$102 and july 11 $832.
I still have not received any of those payments still but according to Sanjana telephone representative my account is not and the negative and that I have been paid. Where did the payment go

My kids don't have a Christmas because they took their money for the Airbnb and we stranded in La until Tuesday

WE RENTED AIRBNB FOR OUR MONTREAL VISIT THIS SUMMER, AND THE CHOSE A PRIVATE ROOM AS IT WERE ONLY 2 PEOPLE. THE ROOM THAT WAS DISPLAYED ON THE APP WAS NO WHERE CLOSE TO WHAT WE SAW WHEN WE WENT THERE.
THERE WERE INSECTS, DUST THAT TRIGGERED MY ASTHMA. GUEST DID NOTHING TO CLEAN THE ROOM OR ANYTHING. WE DIDN'tTT EVEN STAYED THERE. ANYWAY WE LAUNCHED A COMPLAINT WITH AIRBNB AND GUESS WHAT THEY SIDED WITH THE HOST EVEN AFTER WE PROVIDED THEM WITH THE PROOF AND ALL,
AND NOW THEY HAVE REMOVED OUR REVIEW AS WELL.
SO THAT PEOPLE WON'T SEE THE REAL THING THAT HAPPENS. BE AWARE GUYS. THERE ARE OTHER VERY AFFORDABLE AND RELIABLE APPS THEN AIRBNB.
I DON'T WANT ANYONE TO GO THROUGH THIS TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE THAT I WENT THROUGH. AIRBNB IS NOTHING BUT SCAMMERS.

I found my dealings with the company a colossal waste of time and moved on elsewhere. Some reps were very nice, but they don't know what they don't know.
The reviews on this site and elsewhere provide the themes needed for potential guests. Too bad for the hosts because the company that is supposed to bring them business denies them instead.
airbnb is a sales prevention department, and depart I did. airbnb - get a clue!
