I had the most horrible experience with Airbnb this week. I saw a cute apartment in New York at a reasonable rate and decided to book it on Airbnb. I registered and their page were compromised.i was almost instantly contacted by the "host" wholly my information from Airbnb and told to pat a refundable deposit of $500 for damages! We rented a house at 1223 Wrightsville Blvd, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27048 for a week in August. The place was dirty (carpeting was stained, cabinets, counters, door knobs, pots & pans, plates, were filthy etc) and unsafe (Deck rails were only screwed in at the bottom where they attached to the deck, soft spot on balcony floor, and septic tank spewed out raw sewage making showering indoors and the use of the backyard impossible). I book a reservation in Kent Washington at 23119 S. 57th "Cozy Room near SeaTac. The place was not as advertised. I was told it was near public transportation and it was not. Cabs and Uber could not locate address so had to walk and as a result was robbed. Helen the host is in possession of approximately $5000.00 worth of my property which she refuses to return. She is also in possession of medication I desperately need. Avoid this listing.... Read more

I stayed at an Airbnb and had an issue with the stay, but it took place after 24 hours of my stay so Airbnb said I don't qualify for a refund and wouldn't listen to my complaint. Also, since I canceled the booking I wasn't able to leave a review even though I stayed there for a few nights. The customer service was very rude. I will not recommend.

We had a reservation for five days at Airbnb, which is hosted by Ma Li. The Airbnb room is 3550 Ruffin Road Unit 161 San Diego, CA 92123. Stay away from this host. The listing is not as described, and the three extremely small rooms are divided from one normal room through dividends. I have been managing vacation rentals for over 8 years. I’ve enjoyed welcoming people into my homes and take great pride in providing them with a clean, warm and welcoming place to stay. I decided to try posting 1 of my properties on Airbnb. My first guest booked my property for 5 nights. This company has the worst costumer service I have ever encountered. To begin with you have to spend hours on hold to try and speak with someone and of course you get transferred from one individual to another. I was a victim of fraud from their web site. It began with the link to the host taking be to a fake page that appeared to be a valid Airbnb page. I did all my communicating and transactions through this linked page. He even produced... I have been using this company for a while and they actually do not know how to run their business. I am a host and on several occasions they have screwed up reservations. In the last case they made a reservation for a guest, guest checked in and day after guest checked in they called to cancel the reservation and ask the guest to leave. My account was hacked and a listing was posted. I had 42 reservations done overnight. I immediately called Customer service and all they did was remove my phone number connected to the account. They wouldn't cancel the reservations and would not remove the listing although it was hacked/ last logged in from China, It has been2 weeks and I still keep getting emails about a guest waiting for my reply from Airb&B and cancellation.
