REPORT

After 1 week of delay after a secret inactivation, and no response for several days, Airbnb finally notified that the account was cancelled - making an allegation of violating a term of contract. The host made several requests to Airbnb asking them to state the specific action of how a term was allegedly violated. Airbnb never provided any specific action or violation or any evidence and just repeated a generalized statement 'term violated'.

emails sent:

AIRBNB Cassidy: we won't be able to assist you any further with your account issues.

HOST: I want to dispute this with evidence. What exactly is your complaint? (+ I provided many details)

HOST later: if you can't provide a valid and strong reason - I have plenty of proof of gender discrimination by Airbnb, so I ask you to confirm that you will reactivate my listing, and no longer discriminate against me.

AIRBNB supervisor Jake: (also failed to provide any specific action of how terms were allegedly violated) "we have issued a final decision as outlined by Cassady, and we will be standing by this decision. At this time, I will be upholding Cassady's decision for ceasing further contact, as a final decision"

- Airbnb refuses to discuss things in a civilized manner, or give any specific action or proof for discrimination against men - their specific reason is totally secret! And after being notified that it is very unethical and abuse of business practices to have a secret reason, they respond with a threat to cease contact. All secrecy and threats! People without specific and valid evidence are usually lying or covering up or discriminating and therefore refuse to provide the specific reason.

- Airbnb takes the word of women, doesn't ask for or require evidence, penalizes men without even providing any detail when a man asks for specific detail, doesn't allow two-sided discussion, it's a "final decision." Airbnb just communicates that the reason is secret, we won't provide a specific reason or evidence, we won't discuss it or define it.

- more details are available including that one woman admitted having a mental problem, being on a high dose of amphetamines and drinking and declared that it didn't affect her behavior (that was abusive and raging), and she was finally penalized by Airbnb. Another woman liked to use older men to buy her expensive things and boldly violated terms of Airbnb. Both retaliated with lying when future lodging was denied to them. But both women's accounts are still on Airbnb.

A complaint was filed for cancelling the host account with a secret reason - that is unethical.

RESOLUTION REQUESTED (portion):

1. As written to AIRBNB: so I ask you to confirm that you will reactivate my listing, and no longer discriminate against me - and to demand proven and serious evidence before taking action against men. My profile is very clear and anyone that has a problem with the written description should never contact me.

It's better to be ethical and reactivate my listing and treat men as well as women are treated by Airbnb.

2. As another BBB complaint, I request compensation in the amount of $300 for lost revenue when I reached out to Customer Service about this situation - taking 5 days to date of work and pain including providing evidence (charging Airbnb only a fraction of my normal wage).

3. As another BBB complaint of Airbnb on 10/27/14, I request that the profiles of the two women (Jenny, Sylvie) be completely removed from Airbnb (no longer visible to anyone) for at least 1 year because they boldly violated airbnb terms.

4. Airbnb actually leaves the status in the host account as "active" when the listing is actually not active or visible in searches.

As requested of Airbnb, that they add to their terms to notify hosts immediately when they deactivate a listing,

5. and add to their terms to always provide the specific action and evidence of what they allege is a term violation,

6. and to add to their terms to allow full 2-sided discussion to the highest level before deactivating an account,

7. and to add to their terms to deactivate an account only for a serious and bold violation of terms,

8. and to add to their terms to not deactivate an account because a host has valid complaints about Airbnb or a member.

9. and add to their terms to penalize false online reviews

10. and to add to their online Help and FAQ, a thorough description of reviews and the exact soonest time that a review can be written after the visit, and exactly who and when a person can respond to a review, and how many times.

11. eliminate reviews that are secret to the host or guest for any length of time.

12. add to their terms to never post a review that is currently in dispute at Airbnb or a consumer reporting agency.

13. add to their terms - Give at least 1 or 2 warnings before deactivating a listing for a non serious violation.

14. add to their terms - Deactivate accounts only for serious, bold violations of the terms - like lying in reviews and proven abusive treatment of members (and providing phone or email addresses - if you make it very clear to members).

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $900.

Preferred solution: Full cash payment + Resolution stated in the description.

Airbnb Pros: Website options, Website ease of use, Search filters.

Airbnb Cons: Poor customer service, Customer service and attitude, Gender discrimination, Ethics, Abuse of power, Failure to provide evidence, Failure to provide specific reason.

Location: Marigot, Saint Martin

This same thing happened to me!! I thought I was the only one!

Have you considered that they send "spies" as guests when you get complaints? I had a great guest review history but then had one bad guest, next thing I know I get this woman who was clearly pushing my rules and when she left, my profile was gone... no explanation, no getting anywhere with customer service. They stonewalled me.

I was infuriated.

Hi Portland. Yes, it is certainly possible and very simple for an Airbnb employee or friend to pose as a guest and then create a similar problem again.

There is a paid dating service that certainly has employees/friends who ask men for phone numbers, so they can cancel the account and keep the fees. The second abusive woman on Airbnb did exactly that, and she provided her phone number in a clever way (as she bragged), and I didn't. Any company that has to respond to 1 problem and has to take time! which they hate the most!

and to review evidence, is basically going to want to remove the good customer who complained - and took their time!, even with good reviews as I have. And the 2 abusive women 1) had no reviews and 2) only one good review and 'traveled the world' without additional good reviews. I thought that it was just another woman (requesting a stay, not even a guest) who knowingly abuses her power - and has the experience that women's lies are believed without evidence in today's culture.

It is really a tragic culture that allows one gender to destroy the other gender without any evidence, and companies like Airbnb who refuse to state any specific reason for cancelling an account. The evidence proves that Airbnb is run by gender biased people.

The statements you made are certainly true:

- The evidence proves that Airbnb is run by gender biased people.

- It is really a tragic culture that allows one gender to destroy the other gender without any evidence, and companies like Airbnb who refuse to state any specific reason for cancelling an account.

- There is a paid dating service that certainly has employees/friends who ask men for phone numbers

-- response: the service is meetic.com/match.com

BEWARE - THIS EXACT SAME ENTRAPMENT BY AIRBNB IS CONTINUING SINCE 2014 - THE LADY PROVIDES HER PHONE NUMBER 1 DIGIT PER MESSAGE AND BRAGGS THAT IT IS CLEVER.

- The next step is that Airbnb may (or will) cancel your profile if you dare to respond in any way to this lady (this setup by Airbnb).

- this same thing happened in my case, one woman guest was extremely abusive and I filed a complaint and sent audio evidence to Airbnb.

Shortly after, a second abusive woman requested a reservation via Airbnb and did exactly the same phone number setup as happened to anonymous Feb2015 -she provided her phone number in a clever way (as she bragged), and I didn't. I only responded to her message. Then this second abusive (Canadian) woman around age 30 (don't remember exact age - with a very strange voice) said that she talked to her father and he didn't approve of her staying at a home of a man older than her, so she cancelled the reservation.

And my account was then closed.

anonymous Feb2015 - was set up in exactly the same way

- and because he provided evidence about a previous abusive woman guest! and Airbnb just says 'final decision', and refuses to provide a specific reason for the cancellation.

Better Business Bureau is also run by gender biased people who cover up for very abusive women. Better Business Bureau deleted the same complaint about Airbnb and refused to seek a solution, but they claimed that they resolved the complaint - only by sending the complaint to Airbnb, and then completely deleting the complaint from the Better Business Bureau website.

BEWARE OF THE SAME SEXIST SETUP BY AIRBNB - the abusive woman guest was Jenny of Sweden and the followup 'clever phone number method' was by Sylvie of Canada (she claimed). Names are likely changed to protect Airbnb's attacks on men.

- exactly like 17Feb2015 stated:

"And the 2 abusive women

- 1) had no reviews and

- 2) only one good review

- and 'traveled the world' without additional good reviews." I thought that it was just another woman (requesting a stay, not even a guest) who knowingly abuses her power - and has the experience that women's lies are believed without evidence in today's culture."
